A 10-year-old girl was bitten on the leg by a bear at Rice Lake Park in North Vancouver.
The girl was walking along the Rice Lake Loop with her family when the incident occurred shortly after 3 pm on Friday, said the Conservation Officer Service.
A bystander helped scare the bear away, and the girl was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
No one else was injured.
The COS Predator Attack Team is at the scene searching for the bear as the investigation continues.
The park is closed to the public until further notice, and public safety is the first priority of the Conservation Officer Service.
