District of North Vancouver used six salt trucks to pre-salt all roads in the district, according to a snow command report issued at 5:45 am today.
District crews will now be running 11 trucks to clear and salt bus stops in preparation for the snow.
Parks crews began working at 4 am to pre-treat school zones and high priority sidewalks. Meanwhile, all priority routes have been cleared.
According to Environment Canada, significant snow is expected Tuesday. The snow will continue on through Tuesday night. Total snow accumulations could easily top 15-20 cm.
The snow is expected to transition over to rain as temperatures rise. After that, periods of rain continue on into Wednesday.
