Staff report
November 11, 2019 9:39am

As many as 14 Seabus sailings have been cancelled today on Remembrance day as job action by Translink workers continued.

The cancellations are for the following sailings:

  • 14 Sailing cancellations.
    • The 10:02am, 10:47am, 6:47pm, 7:17pm, 7:47pm, 8:17pm, and 8:47pm sailings from Lonsdale Quay will be cancelled
    • The 10:16am, 11:01am, 7:01pm, 7:31pm, 8:01pm, 8:31pm, and 9:01pm sailings from Waterfront will be cancelled.

On November 8, the job action extended to the bus service as well, with 25 busy routes reduced or cancelled. The majority were ‘high-frequency routes’.

“Coast Mountain Bus Company is making every effort to ensure reliable service, but the union’s job action will continue to have impacts on the system,” said TransLink in a statement.

The union is demanding better wages and benefits for its workers.
