The Sea to Sky Gondola is offering a $250,000 reward for any information leading up to the arrest and conviction of the individual behind the vandalism to the gondola.
“This individual on both occasions came very close to hurting people, hurting our community, our business, and has put my team and our team in harms way,” said Kirby Brown, the manager of the Sea to Sky Gondola.
“This individual is a criminal, he needs to be caught and brought to justice. If you love and care for this person, you need to do your part and help stop him now,” Brown said.
He said if anyone has information, this would be the time to step forward and contact the police or the gondola team.
“It is something we can do, with the full commitment and support of the community behind us. I implore you to think about and come forward if you know something about this,” he added.
Sgt. Sascha Banks of Squamish RCMP said the information has to be provided to police or to the gondola info line or gondola email set up for this purpose.

Squamish RCMP are also seeking any dash cam or camera footage between September 13, 8 pm and September 14, around 2 pm.
Kirby Brown said the award is an additional tool the gondola is giving to the RCMP to conclude the case as quickly as possible ‘before the perpetrator does hurt somebody’.
