In addition to a new job, Simon Pleau has five million other reasons to celebrate after winning the $5 Million Lotto 6/49 Classic Jackpot from the March 29, 2023 draw.

The North Vancouver resident doesn’t normally buy lottery tickets but was in a celebratory mood after landing a new job so he purchased a Lotto 6/49 ticket at the Safeway in Lynn Valley.

“I bought a lottery ticket and a bottle of champagne to celebrate the new job,” explained Pleau. “The draw was for that night, so when I found out I won I told my wife we have something else we need to celebrate.” Despite having won $5 million, Pleau says he plans to keep working at his new job as a software engineer.

Another North Vancouver resident Andrew Marlowe, who is also a new parent, is also looking forward to contributing a nice chunk of change towards a home for his family after scoring a Guaranteed Prize of $100,000 from the March 25, 2023 Lotto 6/49 draw.

“This will for sure change my life,” he said of his win. “It sets us up as a new family to get where we want to go.” The North Vancouver resident purchased the ticket from McNews on Lonsdale Avenue and was at home when he discovered the good news after checking it on BCLC’s Lotto! App.
