BC Parks is asking outdoor enthusiasts to be aware of a change in access to the Howe Sound Crest Trail.
According to an update from BC Parks, the access to the northern end of the Howe Sound Crest Trail has changed.
From the Porteau Road Parking Lot, which is the Deeks Lake access, people are being advised to follow the signs leading downhill to the trail head immediately next to the highway exit.
“Be advised that this route transits private land, and park visitors may pass through at their own risk,” BC Parks said.
BC Parks is also advising people that they can expect snow at higher elevations and should prepare accordingly.
Stretching from Cypress Bowl in the Cypress Provincial park on Highway 99 to the Porteau Cove park offers stunning views of the Howe Sound and the Coast Mountain Range.
