The Ambleside Dundarave Business Improvement Association (ADBIA) is shedding some light to the business area this holiday season. Millennium Park, at the foot of 15th and on the water, is home to the new 30’ Village Christmas Tree.

“Millennium Park is home to the District’s Harmony Arts Festival and during the summer months the area is busy with visitors and residents enjoying the open space, proximity to the water and access to the Centennial Seawalk. But in the winter, it can be a dark spot on the horizon. With our new 30’ Village Tree, adorned with over 10.000 lights, you can see the tree as you drive down 15th and as you are visiting the shops and restaurants on Bellevue Avenue,” said Maureen O’Brien, Executive Director of the Ambleside Dundarave Business Improvement Association.

She said West Vancouver supported the project and with the approval of the  board, BIA was able to install the tree in a prime location for people to see from Stanley Park or crossing Lions Gate Bridge.

“We wanted something tall and bright that might pique someone’s interest to come over to Ambleside, and in turn, discovering some of the great shops and restaurants we have. It’s also a huge thank you to our community from our businesses for supporting local these past few years.”

The ADBIA hopes this is the start of an annual Christmas event with a market, carolers, official tree lighting ceremony and other activities. “One day I hope we can host a small version of a European Christmas Market and connect Ambleside to Dundarave through the Seawalk so that residents and visitors can enjoy our parks all holiday season long and visit our businesses in both Ambleside and Dundarave,” added O’Brien.

The tree will be on display until January 7, 2024. Be sure to post your photos and tag #villagetreewv and @adbiawv.

It’s terrible that MAUREEN OBRIEN a person that does not even live in West Vancouver makes decisions for what is best for Ambleside and Dundarave. She gets paid with our tax dollars to turn our community to a what she calls “European”
Which is completely unwanted and objected to by all my neighbours and taxpayers of WEST VANCOUVER
