Left lane on Highway 1 will be closed this week because of utility work planned at Cassiar Tunnel.
The work starts on Wednesday, January 6 at 10 pm and continues until Thursday January 7 at 4 am.
Left lane will be closed in both directions.

The closure is necessary to safely allow testing of the tunnel’s fire suppression system and overhead lane control signals.
The tunnel was also closed earlier on Sunday, December 20.
Meanwhile, the HOV lane on Highway 1 will also be closed today at 7 pm and will reopen on January 8 at 5 am.
This closure is for the planned bridge maintenance at Port Mann Bridge.
Please watch for traffic personnel.
