Environment Canada has issued an alert about potentially damaging winds on Sunday and Monday for the south coast of BC.
The warning covers North Shore, as well as other Metro Vancouver communities.
Winds are expected to develop Sunday afternoon and will sharply veer to northwest Sunday night or early Monday morning as a strong cold front blasts through southwest B.C.
For Metro Vancouver, Southern Gulf Islands, Bowen Island and Howe Sound, including Bowen Island, winds up to 70 km/h will peak overnight on Sunday and early Monday morning.
The wind will ease on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, exposed coastal sections of northern Vancouver Island will see very strong southeast winds near 80 km/h Sunday afternoon.
Communities on the Sunshine Coast and north of Qualicum Beach on eastern Vancouver Island will feel the effects of the winds just before midnight Sunday night.
