Ambleside Park will be closed to vehicles for nearly 13 hours this Tuesday, March 17, as West Vancouver opens its waterfront park to a night of fire jumping, live music, dancing, and food in celebration of Nowruz, the Persian New Year.
In a press release issued March 10, the District confirmed the park will be closed to all vehicle traffic from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on March 17 to accommodate event operations and ensure public safety. Pedestrians and cyclists will still have full access throughout the day.

Road closures will also ripple into the surrounding neighbourhood during peak evening hours, as two streets will be shut to vehicles between 5 and 11 p.m., including 13th Street between Marine Drive and Ambleside Park, and Bellevue Avenue between 13th Street and 14th Street.
The festival promises live musical performances and dancing, drawing what organizers expect will be a large turnout to the North Shore waterfront. With parking and traffic expected to be significantly impacted, the press release urged attendees to walk, bike, carpool, or take the bus rather than drive to the event.
