The District of West Vancouver has announced that pay parking will begin at Ambleside Park on Monday, Sept. 15.

In a press release, West Vancouver said the change will apply to all of Ambleside Park, except where the Squamish Nation is the rights holder. Parking enforcement will be in effect year-round, from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m., seven days a week. West Vancouver had earlier expanded pay parking to Cypress Falls Park and Seaview Walk Park in May.

West Vancouver residents can apply for a free annual parking pass by submitting proof of vehicle registration to a local address. Applications, which take about two business days to process, can be completed at impark.com/westvan.

Visitors and non-residents will pay hourly parking rates. Payments can be made through the hangTag and PayByPhone mobile apps, the Impark website, or by scanning QR code signs in the park.

The District will also launch a one-year pilot project for physical pay stations, with one machine at Lighthouse Park and another at Whytecliff Park. In addition to mobile apps, visitors will be able to use credit cards at these stations.

Vehicles with a Veterans or Memorial Cross licence plate or a valid accessible parking placard are exempt from pay parking. More information is available on the Destination Parks Pay Parking Program.
