Applications are now open for the Student Leadership Program. The positions are paid and the applications close on February 3.
The student leadership program is an opportunity for local students to intern with Jonathan Wilkinson’s constituency office this summer and have their time split between the constituency and the hill office in Ottawa. The Summer Leadership Program gives young people across the country vital job experience serving in the offices of Member of Parliament, Ministers, the Prime Minister’s Office and the Liberal Research Bureau.
Youth will be employed by Jonathan Wilkinson’s constituency office and split your time between Ottawa and North Vancouver. The position is a full- time, sixteen- week paid internship. Employment commences on May 1, 2023 and ends on August 18th, 2023, based on a standard 37.5 hour work week.
SLP participants are expected to attend the week-long virtual training at the start of the program, regularly scheduled virtual training sessions and workshops, and virtual guest speaker seminars.
These sessions will feature inspiring and educational talks from prominent political leaders sharing their stories, expertise and advice. This is also an opportunity for SLP participants to ask questions and interact with Ministers, Members of Parliament, senior staff in government and fellow interns. Virtual sessions are scheduled throughout the work week, and we do our best to accommodate the requirements of your office, the intern’s responsibilities and their learning experience. All program participants are expected to be in attendance at all program events.
If you think this unique opportunity to work in your local MP’s office in North Vancouver is for you, you can apply here. Applications close on February 3rd, 2023 and you will be contacted after that date for an interview. Only applicants who receive interviews will be contacted.
