BC Amber Alert: Brianne Ford fled on foot with the child, police say

Staff report
April 5, 2024 10:36am

Langley RCMP investigators are continuing their search for Tyler Durocher, a 3-month-old baby who is alleged to have been abducted by his mother, Brianne Ford.

On Thursday, April 4, 2024, the Langley RCMP received a report of a parental abduction involving a 3-month-old child. The child’s mother, Brianne Ford, 35, went to a home in the area of 72 Avenue and 208 Street in the afternoon and fled on foot with the child without permission. Based on the information available, a BC-wide Amber Alert was activated at approximately 8 pm on April 4, 2024.

The Langley Serious Crime Unit has assumed the conduct of the investigation and is actively liaising with all partner agencies during this search. Investigators are canvassing the area, following up on multiple tips, and continuing to pursue all possible avenues of investigation to bring Tyler home safely.

The RCMP’s Air 1 and Search and Rescue also assisted in the overnight search in the area surrounding 72 Avenue and 208 Street. Investigators now believe that Ms. Ford has only one side of her brown hair shaved with purple highlights. The last time she was seen, she was wearing a black leather jacket, but investigators are unable to confirm she was wearing that at the time of the abduction.

Anyone who knows the current whereabouts of Tyler is urged to call 911. The Langley RCMP will hold a media availability at 11:30 a.m. today, April 5, 2024, at Langley Detachment 22180 48a Avenue.
