BC Cannabis store opens in North Van next week

Staff report
June 17, 2022 12:31pm

BC Cannabis Stores is set to open its latest store in North Vancouver on Wednesday, June 22. It will becomes the 34th government-run store to open in the province and the second to open this year. The store is located within the Park and Tilford Shopping Centre at 800-333 Brooksbank Avenue in North Vancouver.

Regular operating hours for the store will be 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday to Thursday, 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday to Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday and most statutory holidays.

It will offer a range of products including edibles, extracts, topicals, dried cannabis flower, oils, capsules and pre-rolls. “This is the first government-run non-medical cannabis store to open in North Vancouver,” said Kevin Satterfield, Director of Cannabis Retail Operations, BC Liquor Distribution Branch (LDB).

“Our cannabis consultants undergo extensive training and are eager to guide customers to a purchase that meets their needs while reinforcing the values of responsible use and safety. We look forward to serving our customers in the community of North Vancouver.”

All BCCS are designed to be bright, clean, welcoming and professional, while creating a safe and favourable alternative to purchasing cannabis from the illicit market.

The 3,448 sq. ft. store will be staffed by five full time employees supported by ten auxiliary employees. Staff are committed to keeping cannabis out of the hands of youth and will employ a strict two-ID check for people who look under 30, which ensures only those over the age of 19 enter the premises, said BC Liquor Distribution Branch.
