British Properties home owner ticketed for hosting New Year’s Eve party

A resident of British Properties was fined $2,300 for violating the COVID-19 order for hosting a new year’s evening party.

West Vancouver police were called to the house by an anonymous citizen who had also been invited to the party.

According to the police, there were as many as 10 to 12 people partying when officers attended.

Constable Kevin Goodmurphy of West Vancouver police said loud music could be heard from the home, which is on the 1100 block of Millstream Road.

Police also noted several cars parked outside the home.

The host was issued a $2,300 fine for violating COVID-19 rules.

In 2020, West Van police gave out 17 tickets to those violated the COVID-19 orders of the province.
