Capilano Mall is inviting the community to an information meeting to learn more about the future vision of Capilano Mall. The mall had started this process in 2019, but it was paused due to COVID-19.

An in-person public information meeting will take place next week on Wednesday, June 28, from 5 pm to 7 pm. This meeting will take place at the Grand Court, beside Waves Coffee Shop, in the Capilano Mall. This is a drop-in event. There will be no presentation, though information boards will be set up in the Grand Court and the project team will be available to answer questions.

Comment forms will be available until July 12 for residents to provide feedback.

You can also learn about the future vision of Cap Mall on the website starting on June 28. Here you can watch a short video, download project information, ask questions, share feedback by completing a comment form (available until July 12, 2023), and register to receive project updates.

Those with any questions can contact Anika Bursey at 604-731-9053 extension 102 or by email at info@futureofcapmall.com.

In November 2019, the mall launched ‘Thinking Cap’ to engage with the community and gather ideas and feedback about the future of the Capilano Mall. However, that process  was halted by COVID-19, and is being restarted now.

A desire for mixed-use housing, transit-oriented development, walking and cycling trails, a community gathering space and a vibrant neighbourhood centre were some of the ideas discussed in the previous community engagement sessions.
