The City of North Vancouver has opened a new childcare facility in the Moodyville neighbourhood, adding 16 licensed spaces for children aged one to five, according to a news release by the city.
The Innova Childcare Centre, located on East 3rd Street, is part of a mixed-use, multi-family building by Cascadia Green Development. The centre will be operated by the non-profit North Shore Neighbourhood House.
According to the city, the project is part of an amenity agreement with the developer and supports goals outlined in the City’s 2021 Childcare Action Plan. Since 2021, the city has created 211 new licensed childcare spaces, including 53 in 2025.
“Accessible, high-quality childcare is central to the livability of our community and the wellbeing of all residents,” said Mayor Linda Buchanan in a statement. “Expanding childcare capacity demonstrates our shared priority in supporting families and building a more inclusive, resilient, and thriving city for everyone.”
Lisa Hubbard, Executive Director of North Shore Neighbourhood House, said the centre will offer a safe and stimulating environment for early learning. ““The Innova Childcare Centre will provide a safe, secure and stimulating environment for activities that help children progress in social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development,” she said.
The new centre contributes to the city’s ongoing effort to expand access to affordable childcare for families across North Vancouver.
