The City of North Vancouver (CNV) is calling on event producers, performers, and community groups to bring their most creative ideas to life at the city’s award-winning waterfront. CNV is inviting submissions from proponents looking to stage large, multi-day, or holiday-themed events at The Shipyards, the Waterfront, and other city-owned public spaces.
Eligible proposals include live music festivals, cultural celebrations, theatre and dance performances, multimedia exhibitions, and even participatory fitness challenges such as fun runs or community races. City officials say the goal is to support high-quality, innovative programming that will engage residents, attract visitors, and animate public spaces throughout the year.
“This process helps us ensure that our public spaces are used fairly, safely, and with the kind of energy and creativity that reflects North Vancouver,” the City said in a statement.
Proponents may apply for one-time or recurring events, and successful applicants may be considered for multi-year agreements, with renewals of up to three years at the City’s discretion. The EOI process is designed to set clear expectations around event planning, safety, timelines, and costs, while providing organizers with the ability to secure key dates such as long weekends and holidays.
Submissions will be reviewed through a three-step ranking process. The deadline is Tuesday, September 9, at 4:00 p.m. Final selections will be made by the City, with preference given to unique and complex events that highlight North Vancouver as a cultural and tourism destination.
Event organizers are encouraged to submit their proposals as outlined in the City’s tender documents.
