CNV to begin work on fenced off-leash area in Lynnmouth Park

CNV has also completed the upgrades at the Lower Lonsdale Off-Leash Dog Park
staff report
December 7, 2020 4:38pm

The City of North Vancouver is moving forward with a fenced off-leash dog area in Lynnmouth Park.

The new fully fenced dog off-leash area will be located between Main Street and East 3rd Street in the Lynnmouth Park.

Construction begins this month and is expected to complete by early 2021.

Some features of the new off-leash area include: Double gate- post and rail with welded wire mesh, a 1.6 meter tall split rail fence with wire mesh, and logs and stumps for agility and play.

CNV will also install picnic tables and use fine crushed gravel in double gate area as well as yellow Cedar Bark Chips in high use off-leash areas.

Park users should anticipate temporary re-routing around construction activity during this time.

For a future Spirit Trail connection to Bridgman Park, CNV said it is making additional improvements including trail surfacing and drainage, restoring lawn areas and enhancing trail connection at 3rd Street.

Meanwhile, CNV has also completed the upgrades at the Lower Lonsdale Off-Leash Dog Park.

“Stop by and check out the newly expanded space. We’ve put in new surfacing, improved the drainage and reduced the slope. Have fun and remember there’s no such thing as a dog-poo fairy! Please clean up after Fido and use the red bins at the gate,” CNV said.
