Construction is expected to start the week of May 12 and last throughout the summer.

Crews will soon be arriving on site to begin work on the Gallant Storm Sewer Replacement Project and construction of the temporary detour on Naughton Avenue.

Construction is expected to start the week of May 12 and last throughout the summer, with scheduled completion in fall 2021.

The temporary detour will be in place along with new traffic patterns and restrictions starting in June.

“In the coming weeks, we will also be reaching out to talk to the Deep Cove community about the future of lower Gallant Avenue through the Livable Deep Cove project, as well as the future of the Naughton Avenue temporary detour,” DNV said.

In the meantime, districts Ideas Board for the future of Naughton Avenue remains open for input.

“Please submit your ideas, comment on your neighbour’s ideas or provide your “thumbs up” or “thumbs down” for the ideas already posted.”

I don’t know if the bypass is permanent or just temporary. Is it going to be one way in and out of Deep Cove? For now, it is one way in and one way out, the problem I found was I couldn’t find parking for an appointment and had to come out of Deep Cove to find no left turn at the bypass and had to drive west on Dollarton to find a place to turn around and head back to the bypass.
