District of West Vancouver has issued a COVID alert after a patron at its facilities tested positive.
The district was informed that a person who was at the West Vancouver Community Centre on Thursday, October 28, has tested positive for COVID-19.
The district was informed about this today, November 1.
Vancouver Coastal Health will follow up with the individual and anyone who has been a close contact.
The District has health protocols in place that include sanitizing program spaces at District facilities regularly throughout the day.
“We know that British Columbia is still in the pandemic and we are taking all appropriate precautions. We encourage everyone in our community to take steps to stay safe and healthy and do their part to reduce transmission,” district said.
Last week, the district had also announced it will implement a mandatory vaccination policy for all employees and volunteers.
As of Tuesday, January 4, 2022, employees and volunteers at District of West Vancouver facilities will be required to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
