A North Shore cat-boarding business is offering to take care of cats free of cost for those who may be ill, or have to attend to family out of town.

Holli Husband, the owner of Scratching Post Cat Hotel on Mountain Highway, says the offer is for anyone who isn’t well or can’t take care of their cats due to a difficult situation created by COVID-19.

“Anyone who might be sick or in hospital, or has to travel to, say, Ontario, to take care of a family member, I will be happy to keep their cats without any charge,” Husband says.

She says her cat-boarding business is suffering because no one is travelling at this time. But the availability of space also made her realise there are people on the North Shore she could help.

She says she is assuming no one would be travelling for some time, and her offer to host cats for free would continue. However, those who drop their cats would need to provide food for them, she says.

“They will need to provide food, and I can provide all the love and care,” she says.

Holli can be contacted at 778-628-3111.
