Cypress Mountain has announced a significant expansion of its Snowmaking System.

Cypress has purchased 15 new snow guns, providing the company with 40% more snow making coverage on Mount Strachan.

This expansion, the company said, will provide a big boost for early season-opening and enable it to refresh and maintain main ski runs during the season.

It will also provide 1400 metres of new pipe on Humpty Dumpty and Horizon ski runs

Cypress says it is among many investments it has made over recent years, including the new Eagle Coaster activity, upgraded night lighting, and the new “Lights to the Lodge” snowshoe experience.

Cypress is also currently in the process of installing snowmaking expansion on Horizon and Humpty Dumpty Ski Runs.

“This investment provides us with top to bottom snowmaking coverage on two new alternative snowmaking routes down Mount Strachan, and this investment will enable us to make snow on our Sunrise Terrain Park,” the company said.
