Darwin Properties has announced that their latest development project at the former Harry Jerome lands, Lonsdale Square, will also include a senior living community.

“Sunrise at Lonsdale Square on Lonsdale Avenue will bring high-quality senior living residences to North Shore families,” Darwin said.

Sunrise would be the first senior living community scheduled to open in City of North Vancouver, the company said.

It will offer assisted living and memory care support for individuals experiencing memory loss including dementia and Alzheimer’s.

The location of Lonsdale Square is on the west side of Lonsdale Avenue, between 21st and 23rd Street.  Sunrise at Lonsdale Square will be located on the southeast corner of the property.

While Darwin is the developer of the overall Lonsdale Square community, Sunrise Senior Living will develop and operate the facility.

Sunrise Senior Living is a McLean, Va.-based company that operates in 329 communities in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom.

Construction for the new community is expected to begin in 2020 and welcome families tentatively in 2022.

Darwin said Lonsdale Square would also include a business and medical office building to be developed adjacent to Sunrise, potentially offering residents easy access to specialised care when needed.

“We are excited to be part of this first phase of development at Lonsdale Square, and to expand our footprint, bringing best-in-class senior living to the vibrant City of North Vancouver,” said Carla Sanchez, Vice President of Operations for Sunrise.

High quality senior living? Is it affordably priced for all seniors looking for a home/ community?
