District of North Vancouver is running a pilot program to encourage visitors to respect and protect the trees in the Hunter Park in Lynn Valley.
As part of the pilot, tree species that are considered more vulnerable are tagged with information about the animals that call the tree home, the benefits the trees provide, and the role they play in the ecosystem.
“Our goal is to help foster a stronger connection between park visitors and the trees, while providing helpful, educational information,” DNV said.
District of North Vancouver is also seeking feedback on this pilot program, and citizens can share their thoughts by filling out the web form.
This summer and fall, DNV crews have been restoring wetlands in Hunter Park.
The work will repair the trail, improve fish habitat, restore native plants, and increase biodiversity.
Volunteer opportunities for restoration planting are also available this fall.
Live this! Brilliant!! Keep it up.
