STAFF REPORT

District of North Vancouver has increased cleaning at the District Municipal Hall, the Operations Centre, and at North Vancouver Recreation and Culture Commission facilities because of coronavirus concerns.

DNV has also increased the availability of hand sanitizers throughout municipal hall and the operations centre.

Messages to advise the public on steps to keep themselves and the staff healthy are also being posted in the municipal hall.

The senior leadership team is also receiving daily updates from the BCCDC, and meetings are being held with North Shore Emergency Management and other health care partners.

“Managers and executive are undertaking health and business continuity planning to ensure we are prepared to continue to deliver necessary services to our community,” DNV said.

“We advise members of our community to follow the information that Vancouver Coastal Health and the BC Centre for Disease Control are providing,” DNV said.

The first death of a patient from coronavirus took place at a care facility in the Lynn Valley area of the District of North Vancouver on Monday, March 9.

Two more residents in the care home have tested positive for the coronavirus.

Will you also communicate what the City of NV is doing? Or have they addressed this publicly as DNV did at their Council meeting?
