Enjoy multicultural performances at North Shore Folkfest on June 4

May 31, 2022 12:55pm

North Shore Folkfest Society brings you a series of multicultural performances in its 48th North Shore Folkfest this year.

All are invited to the free program at Centennial Theatre, 2300 Lonsdale Ave, North Vancouver, on Saturday, June 4 from 7 pm to 9 pm.

The Folkfest will feature performances by AMED Dance Academy, Engle Song Dancers, Flower Dance of Canada, Gruppo Italian Chorus, Kavital Dance School of Bharatanatyam and Kathak, Le Plasir Dance Society, Na Keiki Polynesia, Vancouver Okinawa Taiko, The Spirit of the South Seas, Vancouver Pars National Ballet and Zumba Vancouver.

The City of North Vancouver is building the new Harry Jerome Community Center on the old Centennial Theatre parking lots. Therefore, the parking lots around Centennial Theatre can’t be used to park your cars on the night of the Folkfest.

Guests are requested to park at the North Shore Alliance Church (201 23rd Street East – near Centennial Theatre) or on the streets around the theatre. Guests are also encouraged to take public transit or car pooling if possible.

The North Shore Folkfest was founded in 1974 by one of North Vancouver’s most socially and politically active residents, Ms Stella Jo Dean. It was the first multicultural society in the Metro Vancouver area devoted to acknowledging its diversified cultures through the power of song, dance and performance.

The North Shore Folkfest Society is a non-profit organization, and has continued to carry out its mission: to provide an unforgettable multicultural show that is free to all.
