Environment Canada issues rainfall warning for Squamish

Environment and Climate Change Canada has issued a rainfall warning for Squamish, with heavy rain expected to continue through Friday.

According to the warning, between 20 and 30 millimetres of rain is forecast overnight Thursday, with another 20 to 30 millimetres expected Friday. Winds from the south could reach gusts of up to 70 km/h in southern sections of the region.

Temperatures are expected to stay steady near 10°C through Friday before dipping to 7°C overnight. Rain will persist into the weekend, with steady rain on Saturday and showers continuing into Sunday.

The rainfall warning remains in effect as of Thursday morning, with further updates to be issued as conditions develop.
