The West Vancouver community is invited to the grand opening of a new eye wear boutique that has opened its third location in Ambleside. Niche Eyewear Boutique is inviting the community to a grand opening this Saturday and Sunday at its new location at 1370 Marine Drive.
“We are a Canadian boutique store and we are on a mission to help every customer find the perfect frame, while supporting independent, local artists and fostering a sense of community,” said founder Valerie Afriat.
Afriat was exposed to the world of business, design and fashion from an early age, which ignited her lifelong love of the creative process. As a child, Valerie found it frustrating to have limited eyewear options, which made everyone looked the same. This motivated her to find eyewear that reflected her personality. “Matching frame shapes to faces is straightforward, but capturing personality is an art, while still considering your prescription, lifestyle and visual needs,” she says.
Valerie travels the world to source out beautiful, new independent, handcrafted artisanal eyewear collections. Also catering to the current trends in material combinations like classic Japanese titanium, Italian acetate, exclusive colour combination to even 3D printed. Service is everything to Valerie, and her mission statement is: “Eyewear you love, service you deserve.”
“We support and work with people from our community, from printers to social media to photographers, contractors, painters, electricians and plumbers. We donate back to our community and most of all we have the support and love from our community.”
Valerie designed and built out the location’s interiors herself, right down to the furniture. Niche in Ambleside features high ceilings and impressive tall windows letting in plenty of natural light – best of all, highlighting the gorgeous painted mural. “The frames are showcased by LED lights, an effect created by a professional light engineer, allowing the space to also be an art gallery.”
