In a press release, the non-profit said the council is thrilled to bring back the First Thursdays Art Walk, inviting the public to explore the Ambleside and Dundarave neighborhoods by taking a self-guided tour of local galleries, public art and community spaces.

The Art Walk features 5 participating venues and over 30 points of stunning public art found along the way. Galleries and venues participating in the Art Walk include the Ferry Building Gallery, Silk Purse Arts Centre, West Vancouver Art Museum and West Vancouver Memorial Library. Each venue is open from 6 pm to 8 pm and is free to the public.

“The venues present dynamic art exhibitions featuring inspiring artwork from talented local artists, as well as engaging activations including curatorial tours, art demonstrations, live music, art making, opportunities to meet exhibiting artists and more,” the council said.  “The Art Walk is an opportunity for locals to dig deeper into their community, to experience the rich artistic and cultural assets, organizations and creators in our backyard, all while taking in the beautiful surroundings and local business. It’s also a wonderful way for visitors to discover what a thriving arts destination West Vancouver is.”

The WVCAC is also acknowledges the following for their support of the First Thursdays Art Walk: West Vancouver Community Foundation, Province of British Columbia, BC Arts Council, District of West Vancouver, and all the participating galleries/venues.
