Frontline officers with the North Vancouver RCMP seized drugs and weapons during an early-morning traffic stop last week.
Police say that at about 6 a.m. on Feb. 6, 2026, officers stopped a vehicle in the 700 block of West 2nd Street after finding the driver slumped over in the driver’s seat. As officers approached, they observed drug paraphernalia in plain view. The driver and a passenger were arrested for offences under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
A search of the vehicle incidental to arrest led to the seizure of multiple weapons, a quantity of illicit drugs and a body armour carrier, according to police.
Items seized included: 10 grams of psilocybin, 347 grams of methamphetamine, a replica firearm, multiple knives and a baton, and a body armour carrier. Police said both individuals, who are from Kamloops and known to police, were later released pending the outcome of the investigation.
