Four counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle have been laid against a 29-year-old man from Gibsons in a multi-vehicle collision that took place this September on Highway 99.
Christopher Irwin of Gibsons was charged on four counts of dangerous operation of a conveyance causing bodily harm.
At approximately 12:15 pm on September 5, Whistler RCMP was notified of a multiple vehicle collision south of Whistler on Highway 99 at Daisy Lake.
Upon arrival, officers learned multiple vehicles had been involved and that there were a number of seriously injured people.
Three vehicles were involved in the incident.
A black Land Rover collided with silver Lamborghini, sending the Lamborghini into the oncoming lane, where it struck a southbound Toyota Corolla.
As a result of the collision, several people, including two children, were injured and transported by land and air to the hospital.
“We take a zero tolerance approached to dangerous driving behavior and we will remain steadfast in our resolve to bring those that choose to drive in such a manner to account for their driving choices,” said Sgt. Hayes of Whistler RCMP.
