A close family friend of the Fearnley family has started a GoFundMe page after a deadly blaze claimed two family members.  69-year-old former councilor Bob Fearnley and his daughter, Gayle Fearnley, died in an early morning  fire at their Delbrook area home last week.

“This terrible accident has left my auntie Via and her son Paolo displaced from their home,” writes family friend, Clarissa Hedley .“This tragic house fire has not only left a hole where their home once was, but in their hearts too; taking away all their precious belongings, clothes, essentials and leaving Via and Paolo displaced.”

Hedley said she created the GoFundMe to help her auntie Via and her son Paolo cover the essentials and other items that they lost in the blaze. The family is also looking for any temporary or permanent places to stay, preferably in North Vancouver.

“They appreciate all of the generous donations of clothing, food, and other items but at this time ask to not donate anymore since they have no place to put them all.”

The North Vancouver RCMP are working with District of North Vancouver Fire Rescue Services to investigate the fire that occurred at the single-family home at Delbrook Avenue near Granada Crescent at approximately 3 am. There is nothing to indicate the fire is suspicious at this point, said Cst. Mansoor Sahak, a media relations officer for North Vancouver RCMP.
