Environment Canada has issued a heavy rainfall warning has also been issued for Howe Sound. A moist Pacific frontal system is bearing down on the South Coast of BC.
Rain that has spread onto the coast will become heavy tonight as the system approaches.
The heavy rain will continue through Tuesday morning and finally ease later Tuesday as the storm system leaves the region.
Total rainfall accumulations of 60 to 90 mm are expected.
Heavy downpours can cause flash floods and water pooling on roads. Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible.
