West Shore RCMP is seeking public assistance in finding two inmates who escaped from William Head Institution in Metchosin near Victoria.

Correctional Service of Canada reported earlier that inmates James Lee Busch (42 years old) and Zachary Armitage (30 years old) escaped from the prison around 6:45 pm on July 7. Police continue to deploy resources to search for the escaped prisoners including air surveillance with a RCMP Air Services helicopter. Police is also doing extensive search using a police dog “Erik”.

James Lee Busch is a 42-years-old First Nations male, 5’9″, 160 pounds, medium tanned coloured skin, shaved head, and has a skull tattoo on his left forearm. Zachary Armitage is a 30-year-old First Nations male, 5’10”, 170 pounds, light colour skin, black short trimmed hair, with a tattoo with a crown and “No Love” on his right arm.

Busch and Armitage are considered dangerous and should not be approached by the public.  Anyone with information on their whereabouts is asked to contact 911 immediately.  You can also report anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
