BC Corrections is warning the public about a high-risk sex offender who plans to live in Metro Vancouver.

“We are issuing a public notification about Daniel Isto, a high-risk sex offender. Isto is expected to live in the Lower Mainland – particularly in Vancouver, North Vancouver or on Bowen Island,” says BC Corrections.

A Caucasian man with blue eyes and brown hair, Itso is five-feet-four inches tall and weighs 150 pounds.

He was placed in sexual offender list for life in 2018 and has served time previously for sexual interference and sexual assault.

Isto is subject to an intensive level of monitoring and supervision in the community. BC Corrections will work closely with police and partner agencies to monitor and enforce Isto’s 18 court-ordered conditions.

These conditions include no contact with children under 16, not possessing weapons, alcohol or drugs, and avoiding schools, parks, playgrounds and community centres.

“We want the public to be aware of this individual’s presence in the community and to contact authorities if they observe Isto engaging in any activity that could be considered a violation of the court’s order,” says BC Corrections.

Any breach of conditions would result in the offender’s return to custody.
