IHIT appeals for information in North Vancouver homicide

March 10, 2023 10:44am

IHIT is appealing to the public on one-year anniversary of a homicide in North Vancouver. On March 11, 2022, at approximately 2:45 p.m., North Vancouver RCMP received multiple reports of shots fired in the parking lot of the Real Canadian Superstore located at 333 Seymour Boulevard.

North Vancouver RCMP frontline officers and BC Emergency Health Services (BCEHS) attended and located a man suffering from gunshot wounds. The victim, later identified as 34-year old Milad Rahimi, was taken to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

With the public’s help, IHIT investigators identified a suspect vehicle, a dark blue Mazda 3. On Saturday March 12, at 7 pm, North Vancouver Fire Department and North Vancouver RCMP responded to the 300-block of Tempe Crescent, North Vancouver for reports of a car fire. During the investigation, it was determined to be the suspect vehicle – the Mazda 3.

“This was a targeted incident that carelessly endangered the lives of those in the area,” says Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. “IHIT continue to investigate to find those responsible.” Anyone with information is asked to contact the IHIT Information Line at 1-877-551-IHIT (4448) or by email at ihitinfo@rcmp-grc.gc.ca.
