The District has received a preliminary development application for a proposed 19-unit, multi-family development at 6155 Eagleridge Place.

The preliminary proposal currently includes 7 detached homes, 2 downhill duplexes, and 1 downhill multi-family building with 8 rental units.

The applicant will be holding an online preliminary public information meeting on September 7, 2021, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

“All of the homes are well-suited for families, multigenerational families, single professionals, downsizers or empty nesters: targeted to increase missing middle housing opportunities for local residents,” the developer, GD Neilsen Homes, says.

The proposal is being considered under Official Community Plan policy 2.1.4, which aims to increase missing middle housing options with ground-oriented, multi-family dwellings on appropriate sites along the Marine Drive transit corridor.

This proposal has not been formally submitted as a rezoning and is still within the preliminary development application stage.

Once submitted as a formal rezoning, the District will process the development application in compliance with the Development Procedures Bylaw that requires ongoing public consultation.

Residents can call or email the applicant, Tim Ankenman, at 604-872-2595.

Same old real estate developers, same old construction companies, same old devils making HUGE profits on the backs of foreign investors and Canadians. Why? Same old mayor and council.

Exorbitantly expensive human warehousing at its worst. Shame on profiteers. Canada for Canadians!

We live on the street and support the most well intentioned person behind the development. Their goal is to create options for people in the neighbourhood. It will affect us more than pretty much anyone else and we think it’s wrong to stand in the way of creating more opportunities for beautiful brand new homes for people who might not have $2M to spend on a house.
