Loblaws issues new COVID alert for Lonsdale City Market

Staff report
June 7, 2021 10:42am

Loblaws has issued a new alert for an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at the Lonsdale City Market at 1650 Lonsdale Avenue.

It was issued on June 5.

On June 4, an alert was issued for both Lonsdale City Market and Shoppers Drug Mart at 1306 Lonsdale Avenue.

Last week, Sobeys had also issued notification for an employee testing positive for COVID-19 at Thrifty Foods at 310 Edgemont Blvd. in North Vancouver.

There has been a recent uptick in COVID-19 cases on North Shore after weeks of declining case numbers.

According to the BC Government, as many as  72.4% of all adults in B.C. and 69.6% of those 12 and older have received their first dose of a COVID-19 vaccine.

In total, 3,488,884 doses of Pfizer-BioNTech, Moderna and AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccines have been administered in B.C., 256,725 of which are second doses.

The Province aims to ramp up the administration of second doses in June.
