Seven Trees Health, Wellness & Cosmetics has launched a new community-focused, physician-led acute care model aimed at improving access to timely medical care and easing pressure on hospital emergency departments.
In a press release, the clinic said the new model is designed to bridge the gap between family doctor offices and hospital emergency rooms by treating acute but non-life-threatening conditions. The goal is to reduce long wait times for patients while allowing hospitals to focus on those who need critical and life-saving care.
The model was inspired by real-life experiences of families who have faced prolonged emergency room waits, including parents seeking care for their children. Seven Trees said the clinic aims to help patients experience less pain, stress, and uncertainty during illness while keeping emergency departments available for more severe cases.
The clinic is led by internationally trained Medical Doctors with more than two decades of hospital and emergency room experience from global healthcare systems. After relocating to Canada, they completed additional education and licensing and are now fully licensed Naturopathic Doctors practicing within British Columbia’s regulated healthcare framework.
Seven Trees offers same-hour acute care appointments for conditions that commonly drive patients to emergency departments because of limited access elsewhere. These include kids care, cold and flu symptoms, ear infections, gastroenteritis, abdominal pain, nausea and vomiting, including poisoning, migraines and acute headaches, back pain and muscle spasms, sprains and strains, and acute skin conditions such as hives, eczema, and fungal infections.
The press release noted that all patients are assessed using a safety-first approach supported by hospital and emergency experience, with referrals made to hospitals or specialists when higher-level care is needed. Seven Trees said its model is designed to support the public healthcare system by reducing unnecessary emergency visits and ensuring patients receive appropriate care in the right setting.
