The City of North Vancouver has cancelled its water-slide event, the signature annual event that brought thousands of people to Lonsdale area.

The event, part of the annual Fun City Festival, was scheduled for next weekend, Saturday, July 13, and Sunday, July 14.

The third-party water-slide provider was not able to fulfill its commitment to provide the water slide this year, CNV said.

“We know this is disappointing news for the community and we’re disappointed too. Fun City Festival has been a huge success for the past few years and what a great run it had,” CNV said.

If you had bought tickets for the event, you can seek refund here: www.cnv.org/funcityfestival.

The 1,000-foot water slide was the main attraction of the Fun City Festival and was expected to draw thousands from across the region. Meanwhile, the city is inviting residents to the grand opening of the water park in the Shipyards district on July 20.

On Saturday, July 13, the City is also hosting another popular event. The free concert series ‘Summer Sessions’ will take place at The Shipyards from 5 pm to 10 pm.
