Lynn Canyon park trails to close for stair replacement

Staff report
October 28, 2020 5:58pm

District of North Vancouver is replacing the last remaining portion of aging stairs on the west side near the suspension bridge in Lynn Canyon Park.

Starting November 2, the trail will be closed for approximately five to six weeks while the stairs are being replaced.

Access to the Baden Powell trail from the parking lot and café will be closed.

Visitors will need to go south to Twin Falls and then around to reach the trail.

Trail closure signs are posted at the top of the Baden Powell Trail at Dempsey Rd, as the trail will be impassable once visitors reach the construction site.

District of North Vancouver anticipates the work will be complete by late December.

Metro Vancouver has shut down the backcountry routes at Lynn Headwaters Regional Park.

The closure applies to routes beyond Norvan Falls (Hanes Valley, Coliseum Mountain and Lynn Lake) as well as routes in the Grouse subalpine north of Dam Mountain and Thunderbird Ridge (e.g. Crown Mountain, Goat Mountain,Little Goat & Goat Ridge).
