Major traffic changes at Mountain Highway Interchange planned; expect delays

STAFF REPORT
November 6, 2020 11:34am

The Ministry of Transportation will be implementing a major traffic operation change at the Mountain Highway Interchange in mid-November.

The change is expected to create traffic delays.

The existing eastbound Fern on-ramp will be closing, and the new eastbound Mountain Highway on-ramp will be opening in mid-November.

According to an update by the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI), single-lane alternating traffic and temporary stoppages will be required during the day from Arborlynn Drive to Keith Rd to facilitate equipment moving north and south of Highway 1.

Delays can be expected on November 12 and 13, from 9 am to 3 pm.

MOTI said overnight lane closures may be required eastbound and westbound between west of Mount Seymour Parkway to 500 metre west of the new Mountain Highway underpass.

Expect delays on November 12 and 13, from 11 pm to 5 am.

Meanwhile, lane closures and temporary stoppages for Keith Road, from Cloverly Street to Lynnmouth Avenue continue to be in effect. People driving in the area can expect delays on November 12 and 13, from 9 am to 3 pm.

MOTI also advises that lane closures and temporary stoppages for Brooksbank Avenue will also be in effect, and delays can be expected on November 12 and 13, from 9 am to 3 pm.
