A 28-year-old Mississauga man has been arrested and charged following a bomb threat on a plane bound for Vancouver.
On December 13, at approximately 2 pm eastern time, Waterloo police responded to a report of a bomb on a Vancouver-bound Flair Airline plane at Waterloo Regional Airport.
A passenger reported to staff that another passenger had threatened that he had a bomb on the plane.
Police took one male into custody, and the plane was evacuated of all passengers. Through investigation, police determined there were no explosives found on the plane.
Operations at the airport were interrupted for several hours as police and airport staff cleared the plane.
The man has been charged with Uttering Threats to Cause Death and Mischief, and Interfering with Operation of Property.
The accused was held in police custody for a bail hearing. Waterloo Regional Police continues to investigate.
