Man arrested with alleged child porn ‘no longer an employee’ of SD 44

SD 44 didn’t specify whether the employee was fired or he quit
Staff report
December 9, 2020 10:07am

The North Vancouver school employee who was allegedly found in possession of child porn is no longer with the school board.

SD 44 didn’t specify whether the employee was fired or he quit.

On December 7, North Vancouver RCMP informed SD 44 that an employee of the North Vancouver School District had been arrested on allegations of possession and distribution of child pornography.

The employee worked at the Lynnmour Elementary School.

The person arrested in this case is no longer an employee of the school district, said Lisa Dalla Vecchia, Communications Manager of  North Vancouver School District.

“The employee did not work directly with students, and we would like to assure members of our community that schools are safe,” Vecchia.

The safety and wellbeing of our students is the Board’s paramount concern, she added.

“The North Vancouver School District upholds the highest standards of conduct for all of our employees, and we will continue to cooperate with the RCMP in their ongoing investigation.”

According to an earlier report in the Vancouver Sun, the employee had been suspended.
