Vancouver police is looking for a man now wanted BC-wide for assault with a weapon.
VPD investigation, using tips from the public, has led to charges against 35-year-old Mohammed Majidpour for his attack on a woman on September 27. On October, Majidpour hit a 19-year-old woman who was walking in Downtown Vancouver.
It was an unprovoked attack and may have been racially motivated, VPD says.
The young Asian woman was walking near Dunsmuir and Cambie streets when she was hit over the back of her head with a pole. The suspect used a racial slur, then fled the area and continued making offensive comments.
“Now that Majidpour has a warrant for his arrest, our next goal is to get him back into custody as soon as possible,” says Constable Jason Doucette. “We are asking the public to have a good look at his photo and to call 9-1-1 if they spot him.”
Majidpour is described as approximately 5’7″ tall, 150 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. He is often unshaven. Anyone who sees Mohammed Majidpour, or has information about his whereabouts, is asked to call 911 and not approach him.
