Drivers heading to Ambleside and Dundarave next week should plan ahead — parking along Marine Drive will be temporarily restricted as the District of West Vancouver crews prune roughly 240 street trees beginning Monday, March 23.

In a press release issued March 18, the District of West Vancouver said the work is expected to take approximately one week, starting at the 1300 block of Marine Drive in Ambleside and moving west toward Dundarave.

Parking restrictions will shift block by block as crews advance. No parking will be permitted on any block where pruning is actively underway, with signs removed and spaces reopened once work on that section is complete. Crews are expected to cover a couple of blocks per day.
The press release noted the pruning aims to maintain public safety, support long-term tree health, improve sightlines, and enhance streetscape aesthetics. The District said the work is part of its broader urban forest program, which also includes new tree planting and ongoing care for recently planted trees in parks and green spaces.
Parking updates will be posted on the District’s Traffic Updates page as work progresses.
