Mayor Mary-Ann Booth wants you to ‘Love West Van’

Staff report
September 9, 2019 11:00am

West Vancouver Mayor Mary-Ann Booth has announced the launch of ‘Love West Van’, an initiative that encourages all members of the community to come together and do their part to help keep West Vancouver beautiful.

“Join us in helping to keep West Vancouver’s natural environment beautiful,” says the district website. “Whether you want to clean up your neighbourhood, the beach or a park, our community benefits when we all work together.

“Love West Van gives each of us the opportunity to show our pride in this amazing community we live in,” says Mayor Booth. “Every cleanup effort makes a positive impact, whether you come together with a few people or a few hundred.”

The district is hosting two events to promote ‘Love West Van’ this September:

A parks stewardship volunteer event at Hay Park on Saturday, September 21 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Mayor’s Community Cleanup Party at Horseshoe Bay Park on Sunday, September 22, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 pm.

For more information and to get involved, visit https://westvancouver.ca/be-involved/love-west-van

If you are not available to attend one of these events, you can also consider hosting your own event at any time.

I love West Vancouver, but I do not love or even like its new mayor, Mary-Ann Booth. She’s changing West Vancouver into something most Vancouverites didn’t expect and don’t want. Maybe it’s because of the campaign donations she received from various developers.
