Two North Shore residents have been arrested on drug trafficking charges after the car they were travelling in rear-ended a marked North Vancouver RCMP vehicle at a busy intersection last week.
In a press release, North Vancouver RCMP say the collision occurred on March 5, 2026, at the intersection of Keith Road and Mountain Highway, where a patrol officer was stopped at a red light when a red Mini Cooper struck the police vehicle from behind.
When additional officers arrived, they observed drug paraphernalia in plain view inside the Mini Cooper. According to the press release, a subsequent search of the vehicle resulted in the seizure of fentanyl, crystal meth, cocaine, cash, and evidence consistent with drug trafficking.

Both occupants — the driver and a passenger, both from the North Shore — were arrested for drug possession. The press release noted they were later released pending the outcome of the investigation. No injuries were reported.
“This incident shows how routine calls can quickly turn into something far more serious,” said Corporal Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. The investigation is ongoing.
