On Tuesday, 25 October, from 6:30 pm to 9:30 pm, join the Friends of the North Vancouver Museum and
Archives Society (Friends Society) as they celebrate the 50th anniversary of MONOVA: Museum and Archives of North Vancouver at ‘A Night At The Museum Fundraising Gala’.

The Friends Society have planned a special reception where guests can enjoy beverages and canapes, mingle with local history makers, enjoy music from the 1970s, and participate in silent and live auctions. Guests will share in a toast to 50 years and the recent opening of MONOVA: Museum of North Vancouver with a glass of champagne and a special anniversary cake. The Museum’s core exhibit gallery will be open for guests to explore.
Money raised during the evening will support programs and exhibits delivered at MONOVA: Museum and Archives of North Vancouver including:
● Authentic sharing of Indigenous knowledge and First Peoples Principles of Learning.
● Sensory Friendly Mornings that offer children with autism spectrum disorder tailored museum visits in a
calm atmosphere.
● Experiencing the Archives in new ways with online archival exhibits and #NorthVanStories Living History
project.
● School curriculum-based activities for preschoolers to teens.
● Thought-provoking exhibits and events, and so much more.
The Museum of North Vancouver will engage, strengthen and inspire the community by exploring the stories of North Vancouver’s past, present and future. “We invite the community to come together and get involved to financially support MONOVA so that we can create a dynamic and innovative hub where the stories of North Vancouver’s people, places and past come to life,” the museum said.
“We’re excited to welcome the community to our first fundraising event at the new Museum of North Vancouver,” notes Acting MONOVA Director Laurel Lawry. “We’re grateful to the Friends Society for their ongoing fundraising support towards impactful programming and exhibitions at MONOVA. This work is instrumental in helping MONOVA bring stories to life.”
“The Friends Society supports MONOVA’s objectives to transform the way people experience North Vancouver’s stories through innovative exhibits and programming,” added Friends Society Director Jennifer Pantel. “We are excited to use this event to strengthen and build new relationships in the community, and support the Museum and Archives team on exhibits and programming in North Vancouver’s newest cultural attraction.”
